CLASSES – February 2007

ALL CLASSES MUST BE RESERVED AND PAID FOR IN ADVANCE (we can accept Visa and MasterCard over the phone).

MATERIALS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN CLASS FEES UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.

Beginner Knitting
Learn to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. Begin a simple project, such as a scarf, blanket, belt or poncho. $25 for one 2-hour session. Dates: Every Monday from January 8th through February 26th and 2/12 6-8pm.

Beginner Crochet
Learn to chain, single crochet, half-double crochet and double crochet. Begin a simple project such as a scarf, blanket, belt or poncho. $25 for one 2-hour session. Dates: 2/12 6-8pm.

Knit A Baby Sweater (Advanced Beginner)
Learn to make a simple sweater for a child you love. You’ll learn how to check your gauge, choose your yarn, follow a pattern, shape the armholes and neck, pick up stitches and make buttonholes. You will also learn how to sew the sweater together. This class is a great foundation on which to build your knitting skills—after you take it, you will feel comfortable knitting almost any garment. $60 for four 2-hour sessions. Dates: 2/8, 2/15, 2/22 & 3/1. Time: 2-4pm.

Knit An Adult Sweater (Advanced Beginner)
Learn to make a simple sweater for you or someone you love. You’ll learn how to check your gauge, choose your yarn, follow a pattern, shape the armholes and neck, pick up stitches and make buttonholes. You will also learn how to sew the sweater together. This class is a great foundation on which to build your knitting skills—after you take it, you will feel comfortable knitting almost any garment. $80 for five 2-hour sessions. Dates: 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, 3/7 & 3/14. Time: 12-2pm.

Short Rows (Advanced Beginner)
Short Rows are an invaluable asset to your knitting repertoire. They are used socks, in shaping shoulders and necklines, and to create beautiful ruffles. $30 for one 2-hour session. Dates: 2/18 1-3pm.

Socks (Advanced Beginner)
You may think you have no interest in knitting socks, but be warned—they are so much fun to make, you will get hooked! For this class we will use a very simple and quick baby sock pattern that you might even finish before the class is over. Skills involved include joining and knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing and short row shaping. We recommend taking the Short Row class prior to taking this class. $45 for one 3-hour session. Dates: 2/25 1-4pm.

Basic Cables (Advanced Beginner)
Cables are not as intimidating as they look! And they are so in right now. Learn the basics and be able to follow most cable patterns. $25 for one 2-hour session. Dates: 2/7 or 2/28 3-5pm.

Taos Cabled Scarf (Advanced Beginner)
Learn to knit this great looking and very trendy cabled scarf. THIS CLASS INCLUDES THE YARN (but not the needles). The cost is $50. We recommend taking the Basic Cables class prior to taking this class. Dates: 2/19 3-5pm.

Private Lessons
Private knitting and crochet lessons are available and will be scheduled upon request. $15/hour.
